Tickets
Where can I buy tickets?
Tickets are available online only. You can book through earthbox.co.za or on Webtickets directly.
Do I need to book in advance?
Yes. Booking in advance is highly recommended as spaces are limited per shuttle departure time slot.
How do I change my booking?
To change an existing booking, purchase a new ticket for your new time slot and request a refund for the previous one.
To request a refund, email refunds@webtickets.co.za with the reference number of your previous tickets.
How do I book an audio tour?
First select your preferred date and choose time slot. Select the desired number of tickets + click 'book’. You'll then get the option to add audio tours. Select the required number of audio tours. Add to Basket and checkout.

How do I find Earthbox at Lourensford?
Follow signs from the main gate to the main parking area. The EARTHBOX shuttle will leave from the shuttle stop in the parking area and take you to the Earthbox site.
Is there parking at Lourensford?
Yes, parking is R20
Is there a shuttle to Lourensford from Cape Town CBD?
There is no organised transport from Cape Town CBD to Lourensford. Please arrange your own transport to Lourensford.

Is there a shuttle to Lourensford from Cape Town CBD?
There is no organised transport from Cape Town CBD to Lourensford. Please arrange your own transport to Lourensford.

How long should I allow for my visit?
We recommend you allow 90mins for your visit to EARTHBOX. This includes your time in the EARTHBOX chamber.
Where do I pick up my audio tour?
Audio tours can be collected at the ticketing pavilion on site.
Will I feel claustrophobic?
Unlikely. The EARTHBOX chamber is a large space measuring 8x24m in size and 6m in height.
Are cellphones allowed in the box?
EARTHBOX is a space in which to be physically and intentionally present - to observe, investigate and feel. Therefore, we kindly request that all mobiles remain switched off for the duration of your experience.
Is it wheelchair-friendly?
Yes.
Is there an age restriction?
The EARTHBOX experience is recommended for children above the age of 5 and older. For children between 5-12 years adult supervision is required. Please note it will be dimly lit with occasional darkness, so there may be moments of discomfort experienced in the space. If your child is afraid of the dark, this experience will not be for them.
Is it safe?
Yes. Our visitor’s safety is of paramount importance to us. Our engineering team of experts has ensured that the EARTHBOX is very safe.
Are pets/dogs allowed?
No
Are food and beverages allowed inside the box?
No
Do I have to sign an indemnity form?
This is done when purchasing your tickets online.
Is the box still open in bad weather?
Yes
What happens to the box if it rains heavily?
Drainage and water mitigation keeps the box safe and dry.
What else is there to do at Lourensford?
Lourensford has many activities and restaurants including: wine tasting, Artjamming, clay pigeon shooting and padel tennis. Please see their website for more detail: lourensford.co.za
